Author Larry Berman to Discuss “Zumwalt” with “The John Batchelor Show”

Author Larry Berman will tape a pre-recorded interview with “The John Batchelor Show” Tulare Historical Museum Archivist and Historian Linda Ruminer said Zumwalt family members will attend a book signing and presentation for “Zumwalt: The Life and Times of Admiral Elmo “Bud” Zumwalt” scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.

Dr. Larry Berman, a prolific military history author, will lead the book presentation. Zumwalt family members will also have an open discussion.

Labeled the Navy’s most popular leader since World War II, Zumwalt was born in Tulare and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1938. Zumwalt is credited with reorganizing the Navy and paving the way for a more integrated and diverse military branch.

Berman said he wanted to write a book about Zumwalt since he met him.

The book presentation is part of the museum’s “Sunday at 2” program. Entrance is free.
